We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
What a day! Day three kicked off with our founder Stephanie Irigoyen taking the stage at Domi Station.
After telling the story of how she was inspired to create Design Week Tallahassee, Stephanie took questions from the audience as they had a discussion about where the design community of Tallahassee is headed.
The festivities continued at our Dribbble Meetup at the CoLab,
A game of Simon Says decided who would win some free giveaways. This group of designers was hard to stump and we ended up deeming them all winners!
It was a great way to end the night.
Day two of Design Week Tallahassee started off with our visiting speaker, Amy Lee Walton! A cartographer and designer, she began the morning teaching a workshop on how to use Mapbox. Students created their own custom maps using Mapbox Studio, and practiced changing up the coloring, user interface, data, and more in their projects.
After the workshop, Amy Lee talked about her work as both a designer and cartographer, sharing her projects with the audience. The future of digital mapping is wide open and there’s a lot more to learn from it still!
The last event of the day was the first ever Design Week Walking Mural Tour!
Our group took a tour of the beautiful public spaces and art around Tallahassee, starting off in the Gaines Street area and circling around to Downtown.
The timing of the walking tour was perfect as the new Capital Cascades pedestrian bridge was just officially opened to the public that evening. The group was one of the first to walk across it, joining the runners of the official opening bridge race!
All in all it was a great second day of Design Week. Nothing lovelier than a beautiful sunset over the bridge.

Design Week Tallahassee kicked off Sunday night for our inaugural year! 18 different events around Tallahassee, for designers, by designers.
The speakers and sponsors all got together first for a great meal at Madison Social. Great food and great company!
Afterwards, the party kicked off at 7 at Proof Brewing in Railroad Square. The weather was perfect as people enjoyed free cotton candy & popcorn, and played lawn games. It was a great start to a hopefully great week!
